most of your needs. You can also visit the graphic Gythion, a beautiful city in the depth of lakonikos gulf, which has island characteristics.

The Gythion constitutes for many centuries the harbor of Lakonia, it is traditional, with neoclassical buildings, a lot of restaurants which serve Greek ouzo, fish taverns and a great night life.
In the left wing of bight of Gythion you can find the known island Kranai where the tower Tzannetaki dominates as does the imposing lighthouse.
It is the part from where Paris stole the beautiful Helen.

Having as base the beach of Mavrovouni you can also visit the two peninsulas of Lakonia: the rock of Monemvasia, Neapoli, the Caverns of Dyros and Alepotrypas where the first intact prehistorical settlement were found, Itilo, Areopoli, the cave of Adis in the cape Tainaro, the wild beauty and the towers of Mani, Sparta, Mistra from where the last Byzantine emperor Konstantinos Palaiologos came from and so many other places.
